Vauxhall Insignia delivers everything else excellent performance

In the small family saloon segment, Vauxhall has given a refreshing package to its Insignia with multiple variations from hatchback, Grand Sport and a really small saloon trim. As it has a bigger name, its overall interior and body are not that small at all, it’s almost sized of Mercedes E-class and BMW 5 series. Vauxhall always tries to eating in the premium brands to build their vehicles and in the case insignia, both German brands were targeted.

This grand Sports variation has swelled 92mm in the wheelbase and almost 55mm in the length of the vehicle. This is even bigger than the Skoda superb now, but its busting size is totally unconventional and the rest of the car features are not enough to turn your head around anyways.

However, it is not bigger than Skoda superb at all.

This time Vauxhall insignia has a climate control system as well and all the instrument dials have gushed screens to shed in more information about the features and functions. Vauxhall has gone far ahead of other brands in this field now, a battery voltmeter is also offered, a weird addition. There is a pin sharp head up display but fortunately, all these features came in premium trims.

Vauxhall insignia has an army of engines to opt from but the performance is still doled out and the efficiency of these engines is a question mark according to many reviewers and experts.

Vauxhall insignia petrol engines

The petrol engines lineup starts from a 1.8 litre Vauxhall insignia petrol engine and it cranks out 140bhp. This is not a bad motor for a vehicle of Insignia size and it pushes the car from 0 to 62 miles per hour in just over 9 seconds. This engine delivers the fuel economy of just 38 miles per gallon and has a top speed of only 129 miles per hour. On the other hand, the same size of German engines has almost double fuel economy and the top speed of not less than 150 miles per hour.

You can buy a 1.4-liter turbo engine as well, it has a fuel economy of 53 miles per gallon and emits 124g/km. the range topper petrol engine is a 2.0-liter turbo engine with an output power of 248bhp and it still takes over 7 seconds to reach the 62 miles per hour dash.

Vauxhall Insignia Diesel engines

There are four diesel engines offered 1.6 litres with 134bhp, 2.0-litre CDTI cranks 168bhp and promises fuel economy of 73mpg and 63mpg respectively. Vauxhall has excellent after sales in the UK, if engines blow during its life, there is a massive market for reconditioned Vauxhall insignia engines in the UK and the prices are really competitive.
